Problem Note 64812: You see an "unexpected server error" message when you create a new business object in a content release on the SAS® Risk Governance Framework

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

When you create or edit a business object in a content release on the SAS Risk Governance Framework, you might see an error similar to the following:

An unexpected server error occurred

You might see the problem when the business object is workflow-enabled, and the current workflow task contains a large number of participants. The problem occurs when the database engine for the SAS® Shared Services database is Postgres.

When the problem occurs, you see an error similar to the following in the webinfdsvrc-yyyy-mm-dd_hhnnss.log:

EDTERROR:  index row size 2744 exceeds maximum 2712 for index "operand_index_ix"
EDTHINT:  Values larger than 1/3 of a buffer page cannot be indexed.

Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.

After installing the hot fix, specify the following JVM option in the setenv.bat or sasenv.sh file in the SAS-configuration-directory/Levn/Web/WebAppServer/SASServer1_1/bin directory to prevent the issue:

-Dcom.sas.workflow.shortTextMaxLength=1000

After you add the JVM option, restart SASServer1_1.
